Dato’ Rhiza has over 20 years’ experience in handling various legal matters. He specializes in pre-trial negotiations, litigation and dispute resolution; primarily in general business law, debt recovery, defamation, banking matters, probate & administration matters, tenancies, employment and industrial disputes. He also regularly advices business start-ups, entrepreneurs and established businesses on risk management to avoid litigation as well as any potential legal issues.

His field of expertise on dispute resolution includes negotiations as well as formal mediations, where it has proven to be an essential part in helping clients and businesses to settle disputes efficiently. His credential in this area includes attending the negotiation workshops conducted by Harvard Negotiation Institute at Harvard Law School (HLS), being a panel of mediators in both the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) and Associate Mediator of the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC). He was previously active as a Court Appointed Volunteer Mediator at the Singapore Subordinate Courts.

He is a graduate from the Royal Military College (Malaysia), holds an LLB Degree from Aberystwyth University, Wales, a Postgraduate Diploma in Syariah Law & Practice (DSLP) from the International Islamic University Malaysia and an Executive MBA from ESSEC Business School & Mannheim Business School. He is presently a Notary Public and a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Malaysian Naval Volunteer Reserve (PSSTLDM).
